Today's walk with the dogs was in a new area for us, approx 10-15 minutes from our RV Park. We dove further into the hills than before, and figured that we'd have a better chance of finding wild horses to photograph. Our first stop (surrounded in horse poop) was in a bit of a valley. Steve & both dogs stand here with a super cool tree at the base of a steep slope.
I wanted to give this thirsty tree a little love!
Then we jumped back into the truck to drive further into the hills to find the horses.
Ah ha! Horses! The ones on the hills, we spotted from the highway, looked a little like distant chickens. Not these guys, they are definitely WILD HORSES! Wahoo!
We sat in our truck and quietly watched and photographed these two. They kept checking us out, but were otherwise completely uninterested in us.
Then, we found a little trail heading away from the road and decided to reconnoiter for more horses. Gorgeous scenery in this area!!!
Man-tracker would be proud! Horse poop + Horse hoof prints = Horses nearby :)
Look at all these horses - all wild - they circled behind us on the trail! They heard/saw us on their trail and waited for us to get into the truck. Then, they doubled back and headed down the trail from which we just came. Smart!
The "White Dot" Horse Gang. Half of this group of horses had a big white dot on their foreheads, and one or more of their feet were white.
Beautiful Desert!
Me, just hanging out in the Cold Desert. An oxymoron, no! It was -3 degrees last night and cool today. Brrrrrrrr!
Steve, clearing the road so that his little family could make it through this little path. Thanks, Honey!
Red and Green Rocks. So cool!
And, two wild dogs, to boot! Today was fun for all four of us......so much fun!
